YWCA Honors Mohawk Valley’s Outstanding Women
Some of those very special women who have had a positive impact on the community are being honored by the YWCA. The 29th annual "Salute to Outstanding Women" is being held at Noon on Thursday, April 6th at Hart's Hill Inn in Whitesboro.
The luncheon recognizes the contributions and achievements of women who live and work in Oneida and Herkimer counties. The eight women being honored are:
Franca Armstrong, for her contribution to education.
Anita Brown, for her contribution to business and industry.
Alicia Dicks, for her human and public service.
Mary Hayes Gordon, for her work with science, technology, art of mathematics.
Amy Lukacz for her work and contributions in the healthcare field.
Rasha Hakeem Mohamed, for her work in opening doors of access and opportunity.
Nora Bielejec Staring, for her work in the professions.
Jonanne Donaruma-Wade, for her work behind the scenes as an "Unsung Heroine."
