Where did September go? As we begin the month of October, when the nights start getting cooler and the leaves begin falling, what kind of weather will we get this month in central New York?

Here are the weather predictions for our area in October, according to one of my favorite sources, "The Old Farmer's Almanac 2014":

"OCTOBER 2014: temperature 51.5° (1° above avg. east, 2° below west); precipitation 2" (0.5" below avg. east, 1" above west); Oct 1-2: Sunny, warm; Oct 3-8: T-storms, then sunny, cool; Oct 9-17: Scattered showers, chilly; Oct 18-23: Rain and snow showers, then sunny, cool; Oct 24-27: Rainy, mild; Oct 28-31: Showers, mild."

As always, we'll have to wait and see and hope we have a mild night for trick or treaters on Halloween.
