On October 25th we are hosting the second annual ‘Haunted Rails Ghost Train’ on the Adirondack Railroad based on the CNY Paranormal series. Take a ride on the Halloween party train to Remsen with TV Ghost Hunting personalities to experience a haunting Halloween Party and public ghost hunting sessions at two historic sites.

Based on the CNY Paranormal series, Haunted Rail participants can ride the train with TV Ghost Hunting personalities bound for Remsen. Ticket buyers can choose to either explore two reportedly haunted sites: Capel Cerrig and The Remsen Depot through Ghost Hunting, and enjoy paranormal entertainment (tarot card and psychics) or party the night away at the Remsen Center for the Performing Arts at an exciting Halloween themed party featuring music, food, giveaways and cash prizes for those in costume. The train ride home will continue the Halloween themed party back to Union Station.

Continuing to explore the Haunted History of Central New York for a 4th annual Haunted History event, the Haunted Rails Ghost Train is coming back this year and bringing Deep South Paranormal's BAMA BOYS along for the ride.

Benny Reed, co-founder of DOA Paranormal and team member on Syfy's Deep South Paranormal (aka The Joker) and Jonathan Hodges, Team Lead on Deep South Paranormal (aka The Man With The Plan) and Co-founder of DOA Paranormal together are known as The Bama Boys.

Jonathan and Benny have been investigating the paranormal for years now and are looking forward to their first time exploring haunted locales north of the Mason Dixon Line.

The Shadow Chasers have been investigating the paranormal for the last 14 years and have been featured multiple times in the media, most prominently in Cheri Farnsworth's Haunted Northern New York series, as well as in a series of documentaries produced by PBS Television. The team were the PBS TV Ghost Hunters for 3 years before partnering with Lite 98.7 WLZW and Townsquare Media.

Founder PW Creighton is Author of the supernatural thriller series Nightfall and the Young Adult Mystery Trespassing Series.

Co-Founder Katya Von Heuser is a psychic and the co-author of Chasing Shadows: New York Ghosts.

Capel Cerrig (Stone Church) was built in 1831, and is located in downtown Remsen. The church was built out of stone, and has remained unchanged since it was built, with the exception of a new slate roof in 1888.

The Stone Meeting House, as it is now named, has often been thought to be haunted. Reports of strange lights, and feeling watched have been reported by many. Investigations of the building have revealed that those reports most likely are accurate. Photographs have been taken of the building that show a shadowy figure of a man in a top hat. Audio recordings made on the site indicate that there are at least two spirits present, a chatty female spirit and a sarcastic male spirit. [Read More...]

Train Depot

Remsen Depot, originally a union station for the Utica & Black River and the New York Central Railroad was constructed in the late 19th century serving for many years before it was torn down in 1964 and subsequently re-built in 1999.

The Depot has had many late-night ghostly accounts at the stations and tracks. Reports of feeling watched in the station, the ghostly figures walking the grounds or a vanishing conductor that greets would-be passengers as they enter the station. [Read More...]

The Remsen Art Center was originally a Baptist Church dedicated in 1893 and served for many years before being decommissioned and re-purposed multiple times over the subsequent years.

Many report of organ music, phantom noises and fleeting shadow figures while in the building at night.

 


 

Halloween Party

The Party will take place at the Haunting Remsen Masonic Hall, now known as the Remsen Arts Center. The DJ will be playing all of the best Halloween hits as party goers enjoy food from the Soda Fountain with fried ravioli with tomato sauce, brownie and cookie chunks, fruit and veggies, and crab rangoons and more.

A Cash Bar is available with multiple options for drinks including a special Pumpkin Spice Ale.
