It looks like Katy Perry is taking a cue from fellow fairy tale believer and frequently scorned lover Taylor Swift in her new video for ‘Wide Awake.’ The spectral-haired starlet is the main character in her own storybook in the clip, rife with references to her previous hits from ‘Teenage Dream’ and ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection.’

The teaser opens with a little girl in what looks like an enchanted forest. She opens a giant book and wipes off the dust. Each chapter is a snippet from a prior K.P. video: Chapter one is ‘California Gurls,’ two ‘Teenage Dream,’ three is ‘Firework,’ four ‘E.T.,’ five ‘Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),’ six ‘The One That Got Away’ and seventh ‘Part of Me.’ Soon, the gal, who looks like an elementary school aged Katy, unwraps a peppermint — the same candy that Perry and her tour crew got tattooed on them — and checks out ‘The Final Chapter,’ implying that ‘Wide Awake’ is the final single from the colossal collection. It’s a sentiment Katy echoes during her NARM Award speech as well.

What’s in the final chapter? Apparently a “giant labyrinth” (we can only wish for David Bowie to make a cameo!), a poison strawberry (it seems the flurry of Snow White films of late monopolized all of the apples), a “curious cat” that looks nothing like Kitty Purry and one sketchy scam artist of a Prince Charming.

Those of you who need a fantasy fix can catch the rest on June 19 when it premieres.
