Less Than Six Months Until Gates Open For The 2013 New York State Fair

The Great New York State Fair, the premier destination for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers will run from Aug. 22 through Sept. 2nd 2013 and we are less than six months away from the gates opening. Did you know that there some things you can do before the gates open officially?

1) You can 'like' their facebook page and get up-to-date announcements on the latest events coming the Fair. You'll also get behind-the-scenes information, and concert updates. With over 93,000 "likes," so far, this is a great way to share your Fair stories and memories with others.

2) You'll get the same updates and announcements when you following the Fair on Twitter.

3) You can share your idea's, suggestions and themes directly with officials at The New York State Fair. They value your opinion and want to hear from you. New Yorkers are welcomed to send in their suggestions for the 2013 State Fair to statefairideas@agriculture.ny.gov. On March 18th Commissioner Aubertine and State Fair Director Ryan will go through the submissions for the 2013 Fair theme. They will narrow these themes down to ten. On March 19, 2013, all New Yorkers will be given an opportunity to vote for the theme of the 2013 Great New York State Fair on the Great New York State Fair's Facebook page.
