Stories about domestic violence are showing up more and more in the news lately. One in four American women has experienced domestic violence. October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the second annual AK5K to remember Alex Kogut is coming up on October 12th at the SUNY IT Campus in Marcy.

This event is a way to honor and remember Alex’s life and come together as a community and work to heal together.

Early registration and packet pickup is on October 11th at Tony's Pizzeria and Sports Bar in Washington Mills from 10:30am-1:30pm.

Race day registration and packet pickup is from 7:30 until 9:15. Both the 5K Road Race and the Charity Walk begin at 10am. Food and drinks will be available for walkers and runners after the 5K and there are also awards.

One important note. No strollers, pets are headphones are allowed during the race.
