UPDATE 3pm: Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 8pm with damaging winds and hail.

Severe thunderstorms may bring an isolated tornado to Central New York today.

The main concern is from late morning through mid afternoon. The storm could bring damaging winds, large hail and an isolated tornado.

The National Weather Service is calling for showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1pm and 3pm. Some storms could be severe, with large hail and damaging winds. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 83.

The counties affected:

Oneida, Madison, Yates, Seneca, Southern Cayuga, Onondaga, Stuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tompkins, Cortland, Chenango, Otsego, Tioga, Broome, Delaware, Sullivan, Bradford, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Pike, Wayne.
