Syracuse is No Longer America’s Snowiest City
This may come as a surprise to you, but the "Salt City" is no longer the snowiest city in the United States. Who took over the top spot?
Lakewood, Colorado just bumped Syracuse out of the the number one spot due to a storm that dumped a foot of snow in the area, earlier this week.
Here are America's top 5 snowiest cities (with populations of 100,000+,) and this year's snowfall accumulations according to Goldensnowglobe.com:
1. Lakewood, Colorado 72.6 inches
2. Syracuse, New York 72.2 inches
3. Erie, Pennsylvania 68.3 inches
4. Fort Collins, Colorado 67.0 inches
5. South Bend, Indiana 66.1 inches
Lakewood barely edged out the 'Cuse, but Central New York isn't isn't expected to see anymore significant snowfall this season. Lakewood's seasonal snowfall is typically around 40 inches and Syracuse's is nearly 120.
