Top boys names: Jackson, Lucas, Liam, Aiden, Noah, Jayden, Mason, Ethan, Jack and Jacob.

Top girls names: Sophia, Emma, Olivia, Mia, Ava, Isabella, Zoe, Lily, Emily and Chloe.

Personally, I love the names Liam, Ethan and Aiden.  I also know kids named Jackson, Jack, Jayden, Noah, Olivia and Sophia.  Sophia was tops for the fourth year in row.  Jackson bumped Aiden from the top spot after an eight year run.  Nothing too unusual about the most popular names, right?  Easy to pronounce too, which always makes teachers happy.

Here's where it gets interesting.  According to today.com, baby names on the rise for the year include George, Korie and Kayne.  Any famous people come to mind when you hear those names?  Think baby Prince George of Cambridge, Kayne West and Duck Dynasty's Korie Robertson.  George isn't only for boys.  The name George for girls has increased in popularity by 37%.  Kayne is up 37% and Korie a whopping 89%.

However, celebrity names are currently less popular than names with a personal meaning.  Glad to hear that since celebrities come and go but people who have meaning in your life are lasting.

What do you think of the top ten?
