Earth Day is this Saturday (April 25). Lots of businesses and organizations have events planned for this special day, but the Utica Zoo has a huge celebration planned that both kids and adults will love!

Any day is a great day to head over to the Utica Zoo. Check out some of the animals (like the African Lions, Red Pandas, and the Canadian Lynx), and spend a nice afternoon with family and friends. The zoo is hosting a very special event this weekend, though (and it's presented by Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority). It's for their Earth Day celebration, and it's going to bring family fun and environmental awareness together for a great time in Utica!

The Utica Zoo's Earth Day Celebration is this Saturday (April 25), from 11am to 3pm. Smokey Bear will be there, and you can learn about protecting local forests. There will also be an animal meet and greet, activities for the kids and various games. Tons of environmental organizations will be there, including New York Power Authority, 4-H, Department of Forestry, Mohawk Valley Perinatal Network, and the Oneida-Herkimer Solid Waste Authority.

Plus, the first 50 families will receive a free pine sapling that they can plant. There will also be live entertainment - with folk singer and songwriter Peggy Lynn (thanks to Empire State College).

You can get a whole list of all the activities planned for this event at the Utica Zoo's website here.

It's going to be a great Earth Day event at the Utica Zoo! Come out, bring your friends and family, and have a good time on a very special day. Hopefully, I'll see you out there!
