Rome, New York certainly has a rich history, and thanks to Roman Empire Productions, and Peter Leonard, we have a fantastic collaboration of photographs of the Copper City.

From Cahill's Sporting Goods to the Rome Italian Band, Rome, New York was a hustling and bustling city back in the day.

Do you remember the Rome Industrial Baseball League? According to the Rome Sentinel:

With the trials of global war looming large in everyone’s minds, the City Recreation Department had an inspired idea: in 1943, for the first time in 23 years, they would organize the Rome Industrial Baseball League.Six teams were then formed: General Cable, Rome Cable, Rome Army Base (military personnel), Rome Air Depot (civilians), Revere Rome Division and Revere Rome Manufacturing Division

Do you remember F.M Orton, and the Rome Italian Band?  The Wiggins Company, Gross and O'Connor Fine Shoes, and Grogan Brothers were all popular hot spots from yesteryear.

We can't imagine what life was like living back then, but it sure would be neat to go back in time if only for a day.
