It may be bitter cold in Central New York, but there's an easy way you can bring life and warmth to someone today.

Since 1970, January has been National Blood Donor Month with the American Red Cross. And while it's a time to celebrate the volunteer blood donors that have made the simple sacrifice to help others, it's also time to replenish our local blood supply. According to the American Red Cross, over 21,000 people receive blood from donors EACH DAY. That's why your donation is so crucial.

The Utica Blood Donation Center is located on Commercial Drive in New Hartford, in the plaza near Sumo Japanese Steakhouse. They are open for donations from 7am-3pm for the rest of this week. As part of the campaign right now, donors will receive a free long-sleeve Red Cross T-shirt while supplies last (through 1/7/18).

Sauquoit Valley High School will also be hosting a blood drive on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 8:30am-1:30pm. They will also be giving donors a free t-shirt while supplies last.
