We've seen graphic injuries in hockey and football, and now we know that baseball players are subject to horrific injuries as well. Here is the footage of slugger Giancarlo Stanton as he gets hit in the face by a fastball from Mike Fiers of the Milwaukee Brewers.

Giancarlo had to be carted off the field on a stretcher as blood poured down his head. WARNING: The video is graphic as you'll see the Marlins outfielder take a 90mph baseball to the cheek. Miami also suffered a 4-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.

The LA Times tell us that:

Stanton was on the ground motionless for several minutes as he was tended to by medical personnel and he was bleeding profusely. Stanton's father was in attendance and joined his son on the field while he was given medical attention and went with him to the hospital.

Fiers, who threw the pitch was very upset after hitting Stanton and said he did not intentionally hit Giancarlo.

We hope Giancarlo has a full recovery and is back in the game soon.
