The penultimate episode of Season 2 of HBO's 'Game of Thrones' called 'Blackwater' met with rave reviews after last night's airing.  The episode dealt with the Battle of the Blackwater as referenced in the title.  If you watched the episode, you may wonder, what was the haunting song that played over the closing credits?

The song is called 'Rains of Castamere,' and was performed by Brooklyn-based indie rockers The National.  The song is taken straight from the 'Song of Ice and Fire' book series by George R.R. Martin that is the source material for 'Game of Thrones.'

'Rains of Castamere' is a song that celebrates the might of House Lannister, which played a pivotal role in the Battle of Blackwater.
