911 Outage for AT&T Cell Phone Customers

Did you get an alert on your phone? AT&T customers were sent an emergency alert system message saying 911 was unavailable due to a system outage.

"Currently there is a problem with A T & T cell phones dialing 9 1 1.  In the event of an emergency, Oneida County AT&T customers should dial 315 736-0141 until further notice."

The problem wasn't confined to Oneida County. It affected customers all across America.

AT&T tweeted a notice to inform customers the '911' issue has been resolved.

The issue also affected some Smart Talk and Cricket wireless users who use AT&T towers.
