A Jogger Says Dustin Hoffman Saved His Life

Usually it's the 75 year old that needs the assistance of the 27 year old while jogging. In this case a 27-year-old London man has credited Dustin Hoffman with saving his life. Sam Dempster said that after he suffered cardiac arrest while jogging in London's Hyde Park, Hoffman waited with him until an ambulance came. Mr. Hoffman is 75 years old.

Although Dempster first credited with Dustin Hoffman for getting an ambulance on the scene, the London Ambulance Service said someone else had made the emergency call.

Martin Macarthur, one of the paramedics who responded, also credited Hoffman with playing a crucial role on the scene. He said,

Dempster wrote on his blog thanking medical staff and "my new found favorite celebrity Dustin Hoffman."

"It is essential to get a history of what has happened, and (Dustin) witnessed the jogger go down. He was the main witness and saw him stagger and go down. He stayed on the scene for the whole duration of the resuscitation which was about 15 minutes. He was very concerned."
