The coronavirus can't cancel apple-picking season!

The popular fall activity is back at the Beak & Skiff apple orchards starting Thursday, August 27. While many aspects of a typical fall season at Beak & Skiff may look different this year, visitors will be able to pick Paula Reds and make the most of a cute date, family outing, or solo adventure.

The Pick-Your-Own experience will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. This year's experience will be walk-in only, without tractor or wagon rides, in order to adhere to social distancing regulations. Guests will need to follow the orchard's new operational changes while visiting, which include wearing a face covering inside when not seated and outside when unable to maintain six feet of space.

Specific areas, like the inside of the orchard's Apple Barn and the playground, will not be accessible this season, but there will be apples available for purchase behind the barn on a daily basis. Beak & Skiff will also not have Apple Hill ponies or the petting zoo on-site this year, but kids are welcome to climb Straw Mountain and pumpkins will be available for purchase.

All other buildings, including the 1911 retail store, tasting room and tavern, will be open, operating at 50 percent capacity and following all other health and safety guidelines. The Apple Hill Campus will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The Distillery on Route 20 will reopen September 11 for Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
