The Boilermaker Road Race is once again partnering with CNY non-profits to help organizations raise money with it's Charity Bib program, and applications are now open.

The Boilermaker Charity Bib program supports local non-profits by providing free entries to the road race which the organization then provides to runners who, in turn, agree to raise money for the organization.  In the last five years, the Charity Bib program has helped to raise roughly $500,000 for our local community with 100% of that money going right to the Charity Bib partners.

I had the opportunity to run as a part of the Charity Bib program last year, and did so in support of the Midtown Utica Community Center. It was a great experience that gave me the chance to run the Boilermaker with the MUCC team, and raise money for their programs as well.

Applications will are available on the Boilermaker website. The program is open to any Central New York not-for-profit organization. Applications are due Feb 16th and must be submitted via the online application. The Boilermaker says it wants "organizations to think outside the box on how to inspire healthy living."
