Canastota Raider Grace Campbell attended one of the tryouts for the Team USA Women's Volleyball that were held at numerous locations across the United States this past spring. She made the cut. Grace is one of 33 girls included in the 18 year old age group with Team USA in Des Moines, Iowa.

Grace Campbell is the only representative from New York State in the 2015 High Performance Championships which is one of USA Volleyball’s flagship events. She left July 16 for training. The girls who made it this far were split into 3 teams, red, white & blue. The games will continue through Friday, with the championship wrapping up on Saturday. Grace is playing on USA Junior A1 Training Blue team (UJB).

Grace says the girls she's meeting and playing against are 'crazy good.' Some of them had already committed to D1 colleges in their junior year of high school. Grace has decided to be a Golden Knight. She will play volleyball for The College Of Saint Rose in Albany.

The Canastota girls volleyball team won four straight Section III Class B titles with Grace Campbell, 6'3", playing middle blocker. She's won numerous awards including:

  •  2014 Class B Player Of The Year
  • 2x CS Conference All Star 1st Team
  • 2x Section 3 All Star 1st Team
  • 2x All Central New York Team

The 2015 HP Championships will be held at the Iowa Events Center and Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa from July 21-25, 2015. The High Performance Championships is one of USA Volleyball’s flagship events. The 100+ team event features tournaments for both boys and girls that include teams from USA Volleyball Region HP teams, International teams and teams from the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline. Past International teams have included: Brazil, Chile, China, Dominican Republic, Italy, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and Puerto Rico.
