Celebrating The Life Of Alexandra Kogut With October 12th’s AK5K

Remember the purple ribbons around CNY last fall to honor  Alexandra Kogut?  Many of those purple ribbons can still be seen along Oxford Road in New Hartford.  This fall, help celebrate the life of Alexandra Kogut with the AK5K on October 12th.

Whether you're a runner or walker, be a part of the first ever AK5K, which is a memorial run and charity walk to remember Alexandra Kogut.  The run and walk will take place at the Suny Institute of Technology at 10am on October 12th.   This event is a way to honor and remember Alex's life and come together as a community to heal.

There's also a friendly competition among school districts.  Whatever school has the most students participate gets an award for the school which they'll keep until next year's AK5K.

There will also be a Chinese auction the day of the event, with over 100 items to bid on.

All the money raised from the day's events will be used to benefit charities chosen by the Kogut family that were special to Alex.
