Sure, we have a few months before our local hockey season officially starts, but that doesn't mean we can't start planning and getting excited for it.

The Utica Comets are getting geared up for the sixth season in Central New York, and it will kickoff with quite a battle. According to the Utica Comets' Facebook Page, they will be taking on the defending champions, the Toronto Marlies for the first home game of the season.

It's going to be one heck of a game, that's for sure!

This is GREAT news, considering last year's Utica hockey season felt late because the first (many) games were away games. The first home game wasn't until the beginning of November. Now, our first home game is October 5th. Hockey season starts a whole month earlier for the 2018-2019 season! ...At least, that's what it feels like. And if you haven't gotten a chance to see (or experience) all the new renovations to the Adirondack Bank Center at the Utica Memorial Auditorium, this will be the time to do it.

Again, the game is Friday, October 5, 2018 at the Utica AUD. You can keep updated on this game and everything Comets' related, just follow: The Utica Comets Facebook Page.

Summer may have just started, and we may have quite a few weeks to go before hockey season starts, but that doesn't mean we can't start getting ready for all the fun. No, I'm not wishing my summer away (I love summers in CNY), but I do love my hockey, too. Let's go Comets! This is OUR season!
