Dolgeville’s Delicious Drive-in
Next rime you travel to the small town at the edge of Herkimer County, do yourself a favor and visit the legendary Green Acres drive-in. It's been a very popular fixture in the Dolgeville area for many, many years.
Green Acres has survived as a family-owned and operated business, and has been in the same family for over 50 years. It was once just a small shack selling burgers, soft ice cream and shakes. It's been expanded with indoor seating and larger menu. Sweet potato fries, homemade chili, hotdogs, turkey burgers and chicken tenders are some of the favorites.
The prices are reasonable, the food is tasty, and the atmosphere is very small-town friendly. Place your order at the window and wait outside or in the car. When the food is ready, it will be announced on the outdoor speaker. On a cool or rainy day you can enjoy their famous "Mexican Hot" burger in your car, or in the dining room. On a warm sunny day, there are picnic tables where you can enjoy the clean air of the Adirondack foot-hills.
Green Acres is located on Route 29 W in Dolgeville.
