The world of meteorologists is usually a pretty laid back one, but the Weather Channel and National Weather Service appear to be at odds over Athena, the proposed name for the Nor'Easter storm churning in the Atlantic.

The Weather Channel has decided to name the winter storm Athena, following naming conversions for tropical storms.  However the National Weather Service has sent a tersely worded statement indicating they "don't name winter storms" and instructed their staff to  "refrain from using the term Athena."

Despite the name of the storm, it's expected to bring snow, wind and rain to the areas of the coast struggling to recover from Sandy.
