As usual, Little Falls turns it up a notch with their festivals and celebrations. And this year's Oktoberfest is no exception. From fun for the little ones, to 21 and over events, this Third Thursday has something for everyone.

Think Local Little Falls presents a Third Thursday event every month, and they're bringing back one of their most popular celebrations on October 19, 2017. When we say it has something for everyone, we mean it. There's some "spooky" Halloween themed stuff to see and do, German wine tasting, free movies and more. New to this year's Oktoberfest is a Zombie Run, to benefit Sitrin Health Care Center's Military Rehab Program. According to Think Local Event Chair, Elaine Cobb, It's a "3-mile run of blood, sweat and fears" along the Erie Canal.

There will also be a 50/50 Poker Run (for those 21 and over) at a bunch of great Little Falls bars - the Renaissance, Ruggiero's Tap and Tavern, the Copper Moose, Happen Inn, Ed & Bud's, the Italian Feast and the American Legion. The Fulton Chain Gang will also be performing at the American Legion from 6 til 8:30.

There's Virtual Reality Gaming at The Shop, discounted bowling at RD's Gorge View Lanes, a talk about Blackbeard the Pirate at the Library, music by Praxies Saxes at the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts, Story Hour for Grownups at Gansevoort House Books, and free German wine tasting at Ann Street Liquor. Valley Cinema will also be offering a free screening of the movie "Lights Out".

But the most exciting new event this year has to be Little Falls Theater's debut of "Courage Quest". LiFT director Matt Powers says "this is an all-ages obstacle course where participants can come dressed as their favorite super hero or villain to try and save the city." This interactive activity takes place in the Travelodge parking lot at 6pm, and includes a Touch-A-Truck opportunity with the City's emergency vehicles. There's lots more going on at the Travelodge, including pumpkin bowling, crafts, face painting and more.

Many merchants and restaurants throughout the city will also be offering specials throughout the day. You can check out all the details and register for the Zombie Run through their Facebook page.
