Lite 98.7 has teamed up with Broadway Theatre League of Utica and Annie to shine a spotlight on our local animal shelters.

We will have local adoptable pets looking for their furever home take over our Facebook Page and Station App with Wet Nose Wednesday. We'll feature pets up for adoption at the Rome Humane Society. If you can't add another dog or cat to your home, that's ok. You can donate food and toys at our studios on River Road in Marcy, plus all ticket holders to Annie on February 21st and February 22nd can bring donations the night of the show. You can find their WISH LIST online HERE.

It's Wet Nose Wednesday, with Broadway Theatre League of Utica and Annie, reminding you to see Annie, Wednesday February 22nd at the Stanley Theater in Utica with Lite 98.7.

Programs Offered By The Rome Humane Society

Here's a look at some of the programs offered by the Rome Humane Society:

1) Pet Therapy- Pet therapy is a guided interaction between a person and a shelter animal. The goal of Pet Therapy is to improve social, emotional, or cognitive functioning.  Pet therapy builds on the pre-existing human-animal bond.

2) Foster Parents- Fostering is simply nurturing a shelter pet in your home for a period of time. Fostering is usually for two weeks, but can be longer. The majority of animals fostered are litters of kittens.

3) PetSmart- Several of their shelter cats live at PetSmart in Consumer Square, New Hartford and can be adopted from there.  They also bring adoptable dogs to each PetSmart National Adoption Weekend held throughout the year.

4) Scout Programs- The Humane Society offers programs for Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts! Badge programs are designed for Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Girl Scouts.

You can read more on their programs here.
