Free Admission for Rome’s Annual Locktoberfest
Looking for something fun and free to do in October? Look no further than Rome's Locktoberfest.
The annual "celebration of the fall harvest season on the Erie Canal" takes place this year on Saturday, October 6 from 12 pm - 4 pm at Bellamy Harbor Park. If you haven't been to the recently rejuvenated park, this is a perfect opportunity.
Admission to the event is free, and so are many of the offerings: free live music from The Old Main, free horse rides, animals from the Utica Zoo to see, trucks to touch and sit in, and so much more. There's a fishing derby for the kids, and there will even be food trucks so you can grab something to eat while you enjoy the day. Copper City Brewing will be there as well.
If you'd like to explore even further, there will be a group bike ride along the canal - great for families too.
The Erie Canal is a treasure in the state of New York. Locktoberfest is a great, family-friendly event that allows the whole family to enjoy the canal and Bellamy Harbor Park.
