Friday June 7th Is National Doughnut Day-Who’s Giving Out Doughnuts?

Doughnut lovers, you have reason to celebrate this Friday.    After all, it's National Doughnut Day.  Who's giving out free doughnuts? 

Stop by Krispy Kreme Friday, June 7th, and you'll get a free doughnut, no purchase necessary.  Dunkin Donuts is celebrating the day by offering a free doughnut with the purchase of any beverage.  Dunkin Donuts will also unveil a new product on Friday.  It's the "Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich," featuring bacon and fried eggs on a split glazed doughnut.

I never knew, until now, the history behind this yummy doughnut holiday, which got its start in 1938.  The Salvation Army wanted to honor all the volunteers who passed out doughnuts to soldiers on the front lines during World War One.  Hence, National Doughnut Day.  What's your all time favorite kind of doughnut?
