Lite 98.7 is proud to once again partner with the American Heart Association of CNY for their "Go Red for Women" events throughout our area.

Join us as we help bring awareness to heart disease and stroke and raise funds to fight the number one killer of women. We'll be sharing local survivor stories of heart attacks, disease, and stroke, and bring awareness to the warning signs and precautionary measures to help us all live longer, healthier lives. We have a lot of exciting and important events coming up over the next few months:

"Glow Red" - On National Wear Red Day (Friday, February 2nd), we'll be asking local businesses and organizations to Go Red for women's heart health. They can decorate in red, put up red lights and/or red flood lights outside the business to Glow Red all afternoon and evening, and to encourage their employees to dress in red. We'll be honoring the businesses and organizations that take part of this event and feature them on our website.

"National Wear Red Day Luncheon" - Also on Friday, February 2nd, there will be a very special luncheon in Rome. Naomi Lynn from middays will emcee the event that will bring women together, as they hear from a keynote speaker and learn more about heart disease and stroke, and what they can do to protect themselves. It's a very moving event that will have you thinking about the choices you make and how you can better yourself going forward.

"Go Red for Women Luncheon" - On Wednesday, May 2nd, the American Heart Association of CNY holds another very special luncheon, this time in Utica.  The event will feature the “Go Red Survivor Class 2018,” heart disease and heart attack information, and speakers on how heart issues have had an affect on their lives. It will also cover important preventative information like “knowing your numbers” and how the warning signs of heart issues for women are NOT the same as for men. And of course there will be a delicious, healthy lunch as well.

On top of these events, we'll also be featuring the "Go Red Survivor Class 2018," and sharing their stories with you (within the coming months). And we'll continue to cover heart disease, heart attack, and stroke information with you, as we try to raise funds to fight this horrible disease that takes too many lives every year.

Join us and the American Heart Association of CNY as we try to put a stop to the number one killer in women. Help us make an impact on those around us to live healthier, better lives, and know the signs when there's something wrong.
