Businesses closing and other places moving in is just a part of life, but it's always a bummer to hear about another business shutting down in our area.

No one wants to hear that another business is closing down in the Utica area, but it happens. All we can do is hope that another business comes in to take its spot, and it doesn't just stay empty and vacant for years. That's never good.

If you haven't heard or seen it for yourself, the Hoopla! Frozen Yogurt shop on North Genesee Street in Utica has closed their doors. According to the Utica Observer Dispatch, there is a sign that has been left on the door stating that the business is permanently closed. It does advise visitors to head to their other location in New Hartford.

Now that there will be an "open" spot next to Moe's Southwest Grill in Utica, what do you think should go there? Would another ice cream/dessert shop be a good idea? We are already missing Nicky Doodles that used to be in that general area. Maybe dessert shops just don't do well there, and something else should take its place. If you could choose, what would you like to see move in next to Moe's? We would LOVE to hear your opinion - Leave us a comment or message on our Lite 98.7 Facebook Page.
