How to Eat Chocolate Wrong (and Right) in Central New York
According to the folks at Delish, we're all eating chocolate incorrectly.
That might come as a surprise to anyone who's recently visited any of Central New York's top chocolate shops--So Sweet (Utica), Meyers (New Hartford), Nora's (Rome), Sweet Escape (Utica) or Sweet on Chocolate (Syracuse). Is there REALLY a wrong way to eat chocolate? Yes, there is, say the experts. Here are some of THEIR tips for getting the most out of your chocolate:
1. Stop chewing it so much. You'll taste it more if you press it up on the roof of your mouth, and let it dissolve by sucking on it.
2. Stop eating it in huge chunks. Breaking it up into smaller pieces releases the aromas.
3. Smell it before you eat it. Just like wine, experts say you should smell your chocolate before you pop it in your mouth.
4. Stop washing it down so fast. The taste of chocolate lasts a fairly long time if you let it linger.
