Looking for something inexpensive to do to this month while waiting for spring? Check out the events at the Ilion Winter Fest January 17-24.

The third annual Winter Fest is a great way to get out and do something out of the ordinary during the gloomy winter. Here's the list of events:

Adult Pitch Tournament

On Thursday the 21st, for $5 per person you can compete in a single player (no teams), adults-only pitch tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the top players.

Ilion Snowdrifter's Day

On Saturday the 23rd head on up to the Ilion Snowdrifters clubhouse (just past Maple Crest Golf Course) for a snow-softball game, vintage snowmobile show, groomer rides, making and coloring snow angels for kids and preparing Valentine's cards for the troops. There will also be an amateur riggie challenge with prizes for the best recipes voted on by the public.

Father-Son Lego Build-Off

Wrapping up the festivities is the father-son Lego build-off at the Municipal building on Sunday the 24th. Two-man teams will build Lego creations using their own Legos. Contestants can use Lego kits or build their own creations.
