Todd Bowles probably couldn't have asked for a better head coaching debut. The defensive minded rookie coach saw his New York Jets defense force five turnovers, and his offense score four touchdowns in a home opening 31-10 win over the Browns.

Ryan Fitzpatrick threw pair of touchdown passes - one to Brandon Marshall and one to Eric Decker -  and tallied 179 yards, with an interception. Chris Ivory also found the end zone twice, rushing for a 91 yards.

Cleveland QB Josh McCown exited in the first half under the league's concussion protocol after a hard hit while scrambling to the goal line. He sprung into the air trying to score but had the ball jarred loose and recovered by New York in the end zone.

Johnny Manziel backed up with a touchdown and an interception on 182 passing yards. He scrambled for 35, but also lost two fumbles.

The Jets play at Indianapolis on Monday night (8:30) in week 2.
