The fourth season of ‘Glee‘ is getting a major injection of A-list star power, as Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker have each signed on for multi-episode arcs. After a relatively light Season 3, in terms of big name guest stars, Ryan Murphy and co. are bringing it next season.

Hudson, who was nominated for an Academy Award for her role as Penny Lane in the musically-minded film ‘Almost Famous,’ has committed to eight episodes next season. Hudson is engaged to Muse singer Matthew Bellamy, also the father of her second son, Bing, so perhaps he can give her some pointers if she does indeed perform. Key details about Hudson’s character are not yet known.

Parker, best known on the small screen for her game-changing role of Carrie Bradshaw in ‘Sex and the City,’ is also set for a multiple episode role. No word on if she will be playing a super fashionable character or someone more laid back. It’s anyone’s guess.

Additionally, ‘Glee’ will adopt a “show within a show” format next season, as key characters are graduating from McKinley High and heading to New York for performing arts school. So we won’t be saying goodbye to all of our faves this season. Some new faces will be added at McKinley, in addition to K Hud and SJP.

The details were revealed by FOX entertainment president Kevin Reilly on the network conference call today (May 14), according to Deadline.

All in all, these additions are major, MAJOR casting coups for ‘Glee.’ Nice work, Murphy.
