The Broadway Musical 'Kinky Boots' is happening now at the Stanley Theatre, and the first performance did not disappoint.

If you're like Naomi Lynn and have never seen a Broadway Show before, this is one you should definitely make time for. "Kinky Boots" is the story of Charlie Price - A man who takes over his father's shoe factory that has fallen on hard times. Price meets "Lola" an amazing, vibrant drag queen that is in need for some sturdy stilettos. The two team up and create a new design of shoes for their new consumers.

With music by Cyndi Lauper, the show will have you dancing along, clapping your hands, and getting lost in a completely different world. You'll laugh (a lot), tear up, and you'll leave feeling empowered and ready to change the world.

The story-line and music are so wonderfully done, it's reason to see the show by itself. But there's more than that. The characters will have you believing everything is happening right then and now - To say they are professionals is an understatement. Even the small details of characters in the background talking and reacting with each other - It's so... Believable.

The set design and changes are another piece of this show that will leave you in awe. The way they were able to change the set while performing (and not making it look like they were doing anything out of the ordinary) was amazing. There were no breaks - The curtain didn't have to drop so they could change the set or anything like that. And the set was so incredibly designed - There are not enough words to describe how magnificent it was.

All this - right here in Utica at the Stanley Theatre. It's no wonder why so many people in the Central New York area have gotten behind this show. Just look at all the local celebrities who decided to try on the "Kinky Boots" at the link below:

With all the aspects of this show - From the characters to the set design to the music and everything else in between, it's no wonder why it's such a hit. The show held a very important message about tolerance, love, and accepting people for who they are - A message that wasn't thrown at you, but lived throughout the scenes.

The best part is there are two more nights of "Kinky Boots" at the Stanley Theatre. If you were considering whether to go or not, maybe debating it over the last few weeks, now's your chance. You can get ticket information and details on the show by visiting BroadwayUtica.com
