Lionel Richie’s Gone Country Before – Remembering ‘Deep River Woman’

Lionel Richie is at the top of the album charts now with 'Tuskegee,' but he's been country before.  Back in 1987, Lionel joined with the deep, rich harmonies of Alabama on the song Deep River Woman.

First released on 'Dancing on the Ceiling,' it was a top 10 hit on the country charts.
