Lowe’s Mother’s Day Coupons Are Fake

These are popping up on Facebook all over the country.  An ad that says “LOWE’S is giving away free $50 coupons to EVERYONE to celebrate Mother’s Day!”  If you click on the ad, you are sent to a page where you are asked to fill out a survey.

According to a story at CNN.com, the coupon is a scam intended to gather personal information from those who fill out the survey.  It has no connection to Lowe’s, and once the information is filled out, there is no way to retrieve a coupon from the home improvement store.

The report says there have been similar fake coupons from Home Depot and Target.  Lowe’s has several locations here in Central New York, including North Utica, New Hartford, Rome, Oneida and Herkimer.
