Is Mary-Kate Olsen Getting Engaged to Her Much Older Boyfriend?
In most relationships, it's usually the man who shops for engagement rings, sometimes with input from his beloved. Unless, of course, he is planning to pop the question and have it be a total surprise. However, former actress and fashion designer Mary-Kate Olsen, 27, was seen shopping for engagement rings while in L.A. Is she planning to wed her boyfriend Olivier Sarkozy, 44?
Olsen was reportedly spotted at the Neil Lane boutique last month, and she has returned multiple times to look at bling. She was not accompanied by her much older boyfriend, the brother of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, during these ring viewing excursions.
An insider told Page Six that the Olsen twin "really likes cushion-cut diamonds, and all of the rings she has looked at are over 5 carats. She has narrowed it down, but still hasn’t made a final decision."
Another source said she was eyeing rings with platinum settings and with $100,000 price tags.
If this is indeed an engagement ring she is looking for, good for her. And props to Sarkozy for letting the lady pick the rock. That's a smart decision. That way, she is always pleased and satisfied with the ring. But we'd be lying if we said we didn't find it questionable that she was looking for engagement rings without her man -- where's the romance in that?
M-K and Olivier have been dating for almost two years.
