Meghan Markle Wears Herkimer Diamonds to Royal Wedding
Even though your invitation may have gotten lost in the mail, a piece of Central New York was at the royal wedding of Princess Eugenie in England, worn by Meghan Markle.
The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, was wearing Herkimer Diamonds on her right hand at the most recent royal wedding, just before the Duchess announced her pregnancy. Markle also wore a bracelet and earrings from the same collection, according to People.com.
Herkimer Diamonds are beautiful 'double-terminated quartz crystals' found in Herkimer and are close to five hundred million years old. The crystals are magnificent works of nature, found in the rock, having a diamond-like geometrical shape.
The rings are part of a new collection by Pippa Small, who is a British jeweler. The jewelers "Herkimer Diamond" collection features pieces that start at $780 and go up from there - each highlighting a Herkimer Diamond set in 18 karat gold.
Of course, you don't have to shop for Herkimer diamonds, you can just go mine your own at the Herkimer Diamond Mine, which is open from April 1st until November 1st.
