NBC Picks Up JJ Abrams Post-Apocalypse Drama ‘Revolution’ for 2012-2013 Season

NBC must be betting that there will still be electricity when the fall TV season rolls around and we won't be in a Mayan-induced end-of-the-world scenario because they've started picking up shows for the new TV season.  Among them, 'Revolution' from cult-TV's best purveyor of odd, engrossing series, JJ Abrams.

The one-line plot summary is that 'Revoluion' follows a group of survivors who attempt to save/reunite the world after all forms of energy have vanished.

Intriguing.

The first look image, to my eye, is awfully reminiscent of the hotel setting used for a summertime replacement series NBC tried a few seasons back, 'Persons Unknown':
