After months of anticipation, New Yorkers will finally get to see one of their own enter the judges' room on American Idol and sing her heart out.

American Idol released its first trailer for this year's season back in January, and although we didn't get to hear any of her audition during the one-minute clip, New Paltz teenager Laila Mach made an appearance (at 0:51) as she showed her family her golden ticket to Hollywood.

"I'm thrilled that I will be on the show this season," the high school sophomore told the New Paltz Arts in the School Association. "I'm so glad I have never given up on my goals, even when I've been told no in the past. I'm looking forward to all good things ahead!"

Mach's Idol journey started last year in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, and after numerous rounds of auditions from her kitchen table, Mach was able to travel to San Diego with her mom to audition in front of Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie.

Mach revealed on her Instagram last week that her audition will air on March 7, and she's even featured in the upcoming episode's photo on Hulu.

With a stunning voice and over thirty thousand subscribers on YouTube, it's easy to see why she earned that golden ticket to Hollywood, but it'll be incredibly cool to finally see her on television earning her spot in front of the judges.
