New York State Has 15 Billion Dollars of Unclaimed Money
Do you get excited when you find a quarter hidden in the cushions of your couch? Well, think of New York State as one giant couch with money hidden everywhere. Is some of it yours?
The New York State Comptroller's office keeps a database of all the money that's owed to the public - unclaimed funds - and if you're on the list, get ready for a check heading your way. All you need to do is search for your name of their list, and fill out a form and your money will be headed back to you.
Maybe it's just a few dollars, but wouldn't it be great if it were more? There's only one way to find out - go search.
