A new report by the New York State Government says heroin use in our state exceeds national averages and the death rate from opioid use outpaces other states.   The report was released this past week.

The new report also says that New Yorkers are much more likely to be admitted for treatment for heroin use or prescription opioid abuse as compared to other states.  Drug overdose deaths in New York rose 144% from 2005 to 2014.  The national increase was 58%
