Over 500,000 Popular Dishwashers Recalled Over Fire Hazard
Dishwashers are supposed to be a convenience. Instead, over half a million are being recalled due to the risk of fire.
In conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, BSH Home Appliances has expanded a 2015 recall to include another 469,000 dishwashers over concerns that the appliance's power cord could overheat, causing a fire.
BSH Home Appliances manufactures Bosch, Gaggenau, Jenn-Air and Thermador brand dishwashers.
Many different models are included in the recall. To determine if your dishwasher is among those that might catch on fire, check the model and serial number located on the inside or edge of the door panel. The list of recalled models is available at www.cpsc.gov/Recalls.
If your dishwasher is included in the recall, call BSH Home Appliances toll-free at 888-965-5813 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET any day or online at the brand websites listed below for more information.
