This weekend thousands of hot air balloon enthusiasts and spectators converged on Northeastern New York for the 40th Adirondack Balloon Festival.  Held from Thursday through Sunday in both Glens Falls and Queensbury, the event draws more than 100 hot air balloons.

It's an early wake-up call to drive from Utica to the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury for the 6:30 morning balloon launch.  But the drive was worth it for a calm, slightly crisp morning -perfect weather for ballooning.
