UPDATE: Summer school at John Joy and Gansevoort in Rome City School District due to power outage. 

National Grid is reporting that many Central New Yorkers are without power after strong storms rolled through the area.

As of 7:24am, National Grid reporting 76 active outages affecting thousands of customers, including over 3000 in Oneida County. Currently, National Grid reports restoration time of around 12:00pm July 17, 2018.

Other scattered outages are affecting customers in the McConnellsville and Blossvale communities - just northwest of Rome.

The power outage has also impacted our sister station, WIBX950 - which is currently off the air.
