Price Chopper is recalling Fudge Bars after the facility where they're produced test positive for Listeria.

If you've recently went grocery shopping at Price Chopper, you may want to check your pantry. Price Chopper and Market 32 Supermarkets are issuing the voluntary manufacturer recall on 30-ounce PICS fudge bars with UPC 41735 09250.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, eating food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause fever and diarrhea like other food-borne germs, and can be especially dangerous for pregnant women, children, and the elderly if the infection spreads beyond the gut. That infection is called listeriosis. Symptoms can include headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions in addition to fever and muscle aches.

If you've purchased the fudge bars, return them to Price Chopper for a full refund. Price Chopper tells the Times Union that many of their customers have already been contacted through information from their Advantage loyalty program.
