It doesn't matter what kind of disability or impairment someone may have, Santa Claus still knows how to touch the hearts of kids and adults alike.

Isn't it frustrating when we try to explain something to to someone and they don't understand us? I can't imagine how difficult it is for someone with a hearing impairment to try and convey a point to others.

Several years ago I worked in a group home with developmentally disabled adults and children. A few of the residents were hearing impaired. After working with them for a short while, I realized how challenging it must be to communicate with others on a daily basis. After watching the kids at the house struggle to be understood, I felt compelled to brush up on my own sign language.

An adorable little girl named Phoenix Williams -Cody had an opportunity to visit Santa at the mall with her mom. When the jolly ole elf asked her mom if she knew how to sign, she said yes.
