Christmas ‘Officially’ Starts in Ilion This Sunday
Santa Claus is coming to town - To Ilion, that is. And he's going to help kick off the holiday season and get everyone into that festive spirit.
Who doesn't want to come out and see Santa?!
Well, he's make a special stop to Ilion on Sunday. Actually, you can expect him to arrive on his sleigh, with the help of some elves from the Frankfort and Ilion Fire Departments. Now, there's a reason Santa is coming to town a little earlier than first anticipated - He's going to help light the village Christmas tree!
The fun happens at 5:30pm on Sunday, December 9th. After Santa lights the village Christmas tree, he will spend some time visiting with kids at the Knights of Columbus (over at 74 West Street).
THEN...
Santa Claus is coming back on Saturday, December 15th for Ilion's "Holiday Hoopla" (also known as their "Full Day of Christmas in Ilion"). Santa will be having breakfast with kids at Barringer Road School. There will also be make your own pizza at Franco's, deals on games at the bowling alley, stories at the Ilion Library, rock painting, make your own s'mores, and lot and LOTS of other activities for the whole family. Actually, you can get more information including a full list of everything going on by visiting: "Holiday Hoopla in Ilion" Facebook Event Page.
Between Santa Claus' visit to Ilion this Sunday, then the following Saturday for "Holiday Hoopla" and again on Sunday the 16th at Crazy Williez Brewery, it looks like jolly St. Nick will be spending a lot of time in the Valley this year. Kids may want to be on extra good behavior, just in case.
