Signs Summer Is Coming To An End

The calendar won't say fall for another few weeks but that doesn't stop us feeling like summer is coming to an end.  Labor Day always makes me feel like summer is over.  Signs summer is coming to an end.How appropriate I'm spending Labor Day here at work.   Here's to all the workers plugging away each day to pay those bills.  In addition to honoring workers, what else does Labor Day mean?  The unofficial end of summer.  Time to put away those white pants, shoes and purses until Memorial Day.

In case you're feeling like summer went too fast (doesn't it always), here are some signs you're correct.  Summer really is winding down.

Back to school.  The words most kids dread.  Watch for kids near the school buses and don't forget to stop when the red lights are flashing.

I saw this sign a few days ago in Old Forge.  If you love winter sports, this makes you happy.  If not, you probably don't want to see this.

One of my favorite things about fall is football.  Doesn't matter if it's an NFL game on TV or a local high school game on a crisp autumn day.  Peyton Manning, I hope this is your year!

Drive by a farm and you'll see how tall the corn is getting.  Yup, fall is definitely on its way.

These have been in some stores since early summer, but now you're seeing more and more stores putting out their fall merchandise.

End of summer sale and back to school sales.  They're showing up everywhere as retailers get ready for fall and what comes after that.  Christmas anyone?
