State Police Warn Of Another Phone Scam

New York State Police are investigating complaints of another telephone scam where the caller has threatened to harm a loved one if money is not sent to them.

Several people have told state police that they received a call telling them that their loved one has been involved in an accident or has been kidnapped.  The caller demands money to be sent to a location outside of the US.  If not they say, the loved one will be arrested or harmed.

The Times-Herald Record reports that Troopers tell anyone who receives a scam call should report it to their local police.
